Message from the Rector

Rev. Canon Paul Jeffries

May 7th, 2010

Dear Friends

Greetings from all of us at Bishop McAllister Anglican Seminary! It has been a fantastic, busy and exciting 1st Term in the new school year. It started off well with the returning students (primary six) reporting promptly, and the new primary five class joining the Seminary.

The new seminarians soon settled into the schools routine of worship, books, and games.

I’m happy to report that once again we have been able to provide new desks and beds as well as textbooks for the new students. What’s more we have able to continue in our progress of constructing the Eagles Nest, finishing the walls up to the ring beam. During this holiday we hope to see the pouring of the ring beam, and if all goes well we may be able to put on the roof early in the second term. The Chapel (a new and larger temporary structure) moved to a new location, the site where we hope to eventually build a permanent structure some day.

The Seminary hosted Kyeitimbe Model School from Bushenyi for an afternoon of netball and football. Everyone had a great afternoon! The term was wrapped up by Resurrection Race and celebration with excellent participation from the all the Seminarians and their teachers.

We are now looking ahead to second term. We are eagerly anticipating the official opening of the seminaries computer room, we now have 7 laptops on hand, and plenty of education programs to go with them.  We are also looking forward to playing soccer with other schools in the district as well as participating in District scout competitions. Perhaps the big day next term for us will be the Official Opening and Commissioning of the Seminary on August 8th. The guest of honor for the occasion will be The Rt. Rev. Michael Hawkins, Bishop of the Diocese of Saskatchewan.

Last but not least tomorrow Saturday May 8th is the second annual Country Gospel Show in support of this ministry. For those of you in the area please come out and enjoy the show. A big thanks goes out from all of us to John Jeffries, Classic Country and their guests! Check out the poster( on this page or homepage) for details!

“To God Be the Glory”

Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we continue to remember you in ours! We continue to give thanks for God’s grace, and for your prayers and financial support!

“We are making a difference”

May God bless you all!

Paul
