"SOARING TO GREAT HEIGHTS"

Dear Friends,

Greetings from all of us at Bishop McAllister College and Bishop McAllister Anglican Seminary! August and September has been a busy but also a wonderful couple of months. The last days of July seemed to pass so quickly as we prepared for the Inauguration Service for the Seminary (primary school) on August 8th.

(Laying of stone marking the Inauguration of Bishop McAllister Anglican Seminary.)

The classrooms were painted, the new retaining wall and steps were completed, and a new entrance to the Seminary was constructed.  When we stepped back and were able to see just how much we God had blessed us in such a short period of time, we felt so humbled by God’s goodness and love.

With all this work completed we were set to officially open Bishop McAllister Anglican Seminary. The tents went up, the band was ready to make a joyful sound, the young seminarians were ready to dance for all who gathered for this special day, and the Rt. Rev. Michael Hawkins was on hand to preach the word and to confirm the Seminarians. (Inauguration Sermon)

To God Be The Glory!"

Bishop McAllister Anglican Seminary has begun to soar to great heights!

Now life has returned to normal, at least somewhat. Students and staff have returned to classes after a very brief holiday, and I’m in eastern Canada for deputation work. Apart from the usual activities we are very busy training for the 1st Annual Rectors 10 Km Run (or) Walk for Fun Challenge set for late November. Even though I’m very far away, I was greatly encouraged by the enthusiasm of the students who have all ready begun to prepare for this long run. They tell me there are 11 hills and I’m now beginning to wonder what I have got myself into. It will be fun though for one and all, and will make for a great end to the school year.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we continue to remember you in ours! Remember especially the Senior Four and Senior Six Candidate Classes sitting national exams in October - November. We continue to give thanks for God’s grace, and for your prayers and financial support!

“We are making a difference”

May God bless you all!

Paul

Are you a chicken or an EAGLE? This is my favorite photo from Uganda (other than the extraordinary ...and unique daring photo of me and my lion). Canon Paul Jeffries is telling the story of the Eagle who thought he was a chicken and has hit the punch line. You can see and almost hear his excitement and enthusiasm in the photo. It captured his passion for the students of Kyogyera.
